Meeting Arena
The Reunion Arena is a general sports room located in the Reunion District of the center of Dallas, with the Texas.
Its tenants were the Mavericks of Dallas of NBA between 1980 and 2001, the Dallas Tornado (North American Soccer League) of 1980 with 1981, the Dallas Sidekicks of 1984 with 2004, the Dallas Texans (Arena Football League) of 1990 with 1993, the Stars of Dallas (LNH) of 1993 with 2001, the Dallas Stallions in 1999 and the Dallas Desperados (Arena Football League ) of 2002 with 2003. Its capacity is of 17.293 places for the matches of Basket-ball, 17.001 for the Hockey and 16.626 for the Football in room including 5.154 seats of club for richest. The Meeting Arena is also a place of Concert and its capacity varies according to the configurations: End Training course: 18.628 places; Center Training course: 19.071 places and Half House: 9.663 places.
History
The Reunion Arena was inaugurated in 1980 and cost $27 million USD. It was named like the community fourierist the Meeting, which was founded with Dallas in 1855 by Victor Considering. In 2005, the Meeting Arena and the Dallas Convention Center were used to shelter the evacuees of the Ouragan Katrina. The building currently needs restorations. In 1993, President Bill Clinton visited the arena to off observe a match with the team of University Arkansas in the Final Furnace basketball NCAA.Since 2001, the majority of the teams moved in the American Airlines Center but the Meeting continuous Arena has to accommodate events (concerts…).
The arena has a surface of 2.790 m ² (30 000 square feet) and was drawn by the architects of the firm HKS, Inc..
