Medium (painting)

In Painting, the medium is a preparation used to dilute the Pigment S in order to enable them to fix itself on the Support of painting.
It can be oil ux, acrylic, Vinylique, Synthétique,… One can carry out for example painting having like medium the Egg yolk . One of the rules with médiums (flexible) consists with always superimposing the fatty layers on the thin ones what will ensure a stability in time work. Thus it is possible to make funds with the acrylic resin and to finish the details with the Oil-base paint (fattier) with its intense chromatic qualities.
