Medical vigilance
The medical concept of vigilance is a current strong idea which constitutes the essential base of the medical safety device.
Medical vigilances are:
- the Pharmacovigilance (drugs),
- the Hémovigilance (produced blood unstable),
- the Matériovigilance (medical devices),
- the Réactovigilance (medical devices of in vitro diagnosis),
- the pharmacodépendance (Narcotic S and Psychotropic S),
- the Biovigilance (additional bodies, fabrics, cells and therapeutic products),
- the Cosmétovigilance (produced with cosmetic purpose or of personal hygiene),
- the Infectiovigilance (infectious risk).
In France
In France, medical vigilances are instituted by the law n°98-535 of July 1st, 1998 relating to the reinforcement of health monitoring and control of the public health of the intended products to the man.
The Afssaps (French Agency of public health of the health products) is charged to coordinate medical vigilances. The monitoring of the infectious risk is allotted to the CCLIN (Centers of coordination of the fight against the infections nosocomiales).
