Meddle
Meddle is the sixth album of the British group of progressive Rock Pink Floyd left the 30 October 1971. It was recorded in several sessions between January and August 1971.
It is an album of transition in work from the group. Indeed, it marks the end of their time Psychédélique and poses the musical bases which will lead to The Dark Side off the Moon . For example, the first two songs of the album, One off Thesis Days and has Pillow Winds off, are bound by an effect of breath; while one hears the wind and the low Rickenbacker of Roger Waters (only low stereo in the world) to take seat on the right-hand side and then on the left of listening, the voice of Nick Mason éructe: One off thesis days, I' m going to cut you in little parts (“One of these days, I will cut out you of small pieces”).
It is at the same time an album very Jazz: San Tropez has the tempo jazzy Années 1930, and the last piece of the album, Echoes , is built like a Improvisation of jazz (definition, improvisation and rebuilding of very the topic), but one can also connect it with certain forms of classical musics, like the romantic and descriptive symphonies of the 19th century, of Hector Berlioz with Bedrich Smetana while passing by Modeste Moussorgski. This album was worth thus with the group an invitation to be played for the second consecutive year with the Jazz festival of Montreux, in Suisse.
Meddle is the first album of Pink Floyd with of which all the texts are credited with Roger Waters, following the example its successors The Dark Side off the Moon and The Wall , for example.
The last title, Echoes , gave its name to the best off left in 2001. This title, illustrating the genius of the group, deeply marked the rock'n'roll in the years 1970. Indeed, Echoes is a very complex song which touches various fields and which manages to create a single atmosphere, the sounds testify some to Albatros. One can also hear there the cries of some prehistoric animals of the kind Ptérodactyle S and the noises of sea-beds, like a Sonar.

Nous spent much time before beginning the recording. We had worked on our project The Household Objects but that forever succeeded. The idea was always to create a continuous piece of music which would explore various environments and it was the album which established that. It is Rick Wright which started it with this simple note at the beginning of Echoes
