History
Date of setting-up: February 14th 1945It is about a French military decoration.
Reward the personnel Militaire and Civil, sailing and not sailing, the Ministère of the Air having begun again the project not led in 1939, of a French air Order of Merit. Several decrees (1950, 1956 and 1932) laid down the methods of the attribution of this decoration.
At January 1st 2003, 18.000 medals were decreed, of which some with foreign personalities
Badge
The Médaille is presented in the form of a rectangular gilded metal plate. One can see there on the avers a profile of the French Marianne of the years 1940, with an inscription “Honor and Fatherland”.The suspension brace is made of two horizontal wings which frame a star.
The ribbon is blue-king .
