Medal commemorative of the countryside of Indo-China

Creation date : 1er August 1953It is about a French military decoration
The medal was created to honor the members with the French task force which knew appalling losses during a conflict of more than eight years in Indo-China (80 000 killed, 114.000 wounded and 30.000 prisoners died in captivity for the whole of the forces of the French Union).
The recipients are the Militaire S of all the weapons, of the regular and suppletive formations, which fought at least 90 days between the August 16th 1945 and the July 27th 1954. The flight crew which ensured transport of the troops can also claim with this decoration.
Badge
A Naja with seven heads supports a Cartouche carrying the inscription “Indo-China” on which a elephant tricéphale rests. One finds with the reverse the inscription “Task force French of the Far East” surrounded by a crown of sheets of oaks and bay-tree. The suspension brace of this decoration is formed by a dragon which twists. The ribbon is yellow with vertical bands of green
