The Spykee robot of the company Meccano (Erector in the United States) is a robot to build oneself (it consists of 210 parts compatible with the other Meccano parts). It was presented to the THESE of Las Vegas in January 2007 like to the CeBIT of Hanover in March 2007. It will not leave before September or October 2007 at the approximate price 270 $ (250 euros).

Its principal characteristics:

• ordered starting from a computer PC or Mac via a local Wi-Fi connection or Internet
• has a video camera
• a microphone
• a loudspeaker
• a capacity of VoIP compatible with MSN, Skype, Google Talk (the robot being used as relay)
• a digital music player
• it cannot climb and move on the irregular grounds
• monitoring mode with detection of movements
• sending of emails
• base of refill (wordwrap)
