Measure noise
the measurement of the noise is useful as well theoretically, in Acoustique, as in experiments on the white vibrations, in Physique of the signals.
One can also consider the electronic study in of it, where the noise is related to the sensitivity of a receiver, to establish a level of tolerance necessary to a signal of quality.
In the receivers and transmitting audio, specific methods are used in order to obtain subjectively comparable measurements of noise on systems from which the noise (its spectral and temporal distribution) is different. In particular, standard ITU-R 468 to the measure of the noises, created to this end specific, is used by the professionals of acoustics.
Standards
Many standards one be defined for the measurement of the noises, in particular:
- Standard
- : ITU-R 468, largely used by the acoustics experts. Standard
- : IEC A-weighting, used in the measurement of the environmental noises. Standard
- : CCIR recommendation 468-4, today replaced by the ITU-R 468 Standard
- : CCITT 0.41, based to the psophometric measure of the noises and used in telephony. Standard
- : CCITT P53, now replaced by the CCITT0.41 Standard
- : BS 6402:1983, draft of the exposure of the people to the noises. Standard
- : BS 3539:1968, specifies the noise level of the engines in the vehicles.
