The average German ( Mitteldeutsche or Zentraldeutsche ) is a group of Germanic dialects which are primarily spoken in the center about Germany and Luxembourg.
They define a zone of transition within the linguistic Continuum from the German Groupe between the speeches German superiors and Low-German S.
With the dialects of the German superior, it forms the group of the languages of the High-German. In this category, they are different from the higher German dialects by a Second consonant shift incomplete.
