The area of Mbeya is a area south-west the Tanzania, made mainly of high plateaus. Its capital is Mbeya, more the big city of the south-western quarter of the country.

It is bordered in south-east by the Malawi and in south-west by the Zambia. It is also bordering on the areas of the Tabora (north-western), of the Singida (north-eastern), of the Iringa (Is) and of the Rukwa (western).

It is populated by various ethnicities such as Nyakyusa, Ndali, Nyiha, Nyamwanga, Safwa, Malila, Vwanji (gold Wanji), Bungu, Sangu, Wanda and Sichela.

Districts

Mbeya is cut out in eight districts: Chunya, Mbarali, Mbozi, Rungwe, Kyela, Ileje, Mbeya Urban and Rural Mbeya.
