Mazinkaiser
Mazinkaiser is a OAV in seven episodes produces in 2001, in the form of homage to the series Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger (the credits also comprise a wink with Goldorak). Mazinkaiser is a giant robot appeared in the video game Super Robot Wars F, produced in 1997 by Banpresto according to the universe of the Mecha Go Nagai. The cartoon takes again the design and the name of the robot in what is at the same time a remake and a synthesis of the series Mazinger Z. Part of the characters of the Anime original Mazinger Z (as of Great Mazinger) are included in the account.
History
Koji (Alcor in Goldorak), pilot of Mazinger Z and Tetsuya, pilot of Great Mazinger, are the principal weapons of Japan to fight against the mechanical invasions of monsters developped at the point by Doctor Hell, a megalomaniac baited with the conquest of the world. Mazinger Z is stolen by treachery and Great Mazinger seems exceeded: but Koji discovers a posthumous message of his/her grandfather, who allows him to discover a new robot, more powerful than all the others, Mazinkaiser. Koji succeeds in with large-sorrow taking the orders of this robot to the infinite power and manages to overcome the armies of Doctor Hell.
Partially adapted original Manga of Go Nagai, Mazinkaiser is distinguished from Mazinger Z by more pronounced violence and a humor rather addressing to a public adults and teenagers.
The great success of the OAV in Japan was worth a continuation to him, Mazinkaiser vs the Great Darkness General (2002), OAV in a 56 minutes episode which sees Mazinkaiser facing the underground empire of Mykene: this means-measuring was a synthesis of the series Great Mazinger.
