Maya astronomy

The Maya Astronomie tends to connect energies of the Ground with those of the Cosmos. It is based on the position of the Planets.

The life of the Mayas was regulated on the cosmos and the movement of the celestial bodies which they studied using Gnomon S (our sundials). For this purpose, they built observatories whose certain openings were directed on the Orbite of the Planet S.

Set on astronomy and brilliant mathematicians, they made scientists calculations whom they registered in “Codex” of which there remain some specimens nowadays. Many was destroyed following the Spanish invasion.

Thanks to these observations, they could draw up their different calendars, of which some were of a great complexity and an extreme precision. Those enabled them to count time in order to determine the phases of the moon as well, the position of the sun at the time of the eclipse S, the Solstice S and the equinox S, that the cycles of nature. They were also used to them to predict the future and to fix the dates of the great ceremonies. Their observations were directed mainly towards Venus, but also the Pléiades (in which the cosmic Maya would be originating), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn

The Milky Way seems to have played a big role at the Mayas, the Milky Way is perceived as being the mythical road which borrows the hearts when they travel of the underground depths towards the skies of beyond. According to their astronomical calculations based on the position of planets, they discovered the point of crossing of the ecliptic with the Milky Way. They called it the Tree Crowned according to its form. That led them to note that the moment when the sun enters in conjunction with this Crowned Tree represents an opening towards a level of development of the spiritual conscience, another dimension.

Next the conjunction will be located at the winter solstice of 2012, that is to say on December 21st. This date being the first day of new a 5.200 years cycle.
