XXe century

  • 1917 . Djibouti - Ethiopia: inauguration of the railroad free-Ethiopic.

  • 1980 . Swiss: signature with Bern of the final Act of the diplomatic Conference called for the implementation of the Relative convention to railway international transport (COTIF). This convention is coming into effect on May 1st 1985.

XXIe century

  • 2004 . Turkey: launching of work of a railway tunnel under the the Bosphorus, 1600 m length, whose startup is envisaged in 2008, and who should finally allow to connect by rail two banks of the the Bosphorus.

  • 2006 . China: the last train leaves the station of Beijing - Southern before a rebuilding of the station. In 2008, this rebuilding will be completed, and it station will be with the head of LGV towards Tianjin and Shanghai.
