  • Commemoration: 60ème birthday of the signature of the German capitulation, the May 7th 1945. Hospitalized for an operation of the Gall bladder, Jean-Pierre Raffarin cancelled its displacement with Rheims where it was to chair the ceremony commemorating the 60 years of the signature of the German capitulation. It is Michele Alliot-Marie, the Minister for the Defense which replaced it accompanied by the deputy secretary with the War veterans Hamlaoui Mékachéra and the Secretary of State to the elderly Catherine Vautrin.

Monday May 16th 2005

  • Strike: The normally non-working Whit Monday, had been issued “day of solidarity”, becoming thus a day's work. This Monday the 16th May 2005 was the first Whit Monday to being concerned by this decree, and was accompanied by a massive strike. Indeed, 55% of the French did not work this day, 28% were “on leave or in RTT”, 14% in strike, 13% specified that their company would close and 1% not being pronounced. In much from colleges only a pupil on four went in progress.
