Maximum (extended play)

A maximum (in English extended play or EP ), is a Disque vinyl or a Compact disk which is too long to be qualified of simple individual but too short to be qualified of album.

In general, an album contains at least eight Plage S (or lasts more forty-five minutes) and an individual contains two or three beaches. Maximum generally contains as for him four to seven beaches. An individual of Remix of a Chanson is not a EP except if it contains in addition to other songs which are not Remix.

Its name comes from the format 45 turns. Maximum could then contain more Piste S which the traditional format and was very much used in the radios or by DJ. In French, one should not use the term extended play but rather name maximum or maximum 45 (in the beginning: maximum 45 turns ).

This format is quasi non-existent in France, it is differently in Great Britain and with the the United States. Many Artist S or groups leave individual, then maximum, and finally a first album. Thereafter, they will be able to leave other maxis within the framework of a particular step.
