Maximin-Dominique Consolat

Maximin-Dominique Consolat , born with Grasse on August 4th, 1785 was Maire Marseilles of 1832 to 1843.

Trader of trade having made fortune in Russia, Dominique Maximin Consolat had the great merit to make vote by the municipal council in 1834 the principle of creation of the Canal of Marseilles which will lead the water of the Durance to Marseilles.

One owes him also the creation of the avenue of the Prado and the inauguration of the Triumphal arch of the Door of Aix.

After a dozen years of work, it is Bonaventure of Cropte, count de Chanterac, one of its successors to the Town hall, which, in November 1849, had the honor to accommodate the water of the Durance in the city phocéenne.
