Maximilien, baron de Chaudoir is a Russian Entomologiste , born the September 12th 1816 with Ivnitza close to Zhitomir and dead the May 6th 1881 with Amélie-the-Baths.

It is devoted to the study of the coleopters and in particular of the Carabidae. Its Cicindelidae is preserved by the national Muséum of natural history. Its Carabidae are acquired by Charles Oberthür (1845-1924) before being also acquired by the Natural history museum.
