Maximilien Ier of the Saint Worsens

Maximilien Ier of Habsbourg, (Wiener Neustadt March 22nd 1459 - Wels January 12th 1519) was Germanic Roman Emperor of 1508 to its death.
Wire of the emperor Frederic III and Aliénor of the Portugal, it marries the heiress of Burgundy, the duchess Marie, only child of Charles Bold the. By this Maximilien marriage the Burgundian Netherlands obtained and the county of Burgundy (Franche-Comté), while the France seized the duchy of Burgundy.
Maximilien is elected King of the Romans the alive one of his father Frederic III in 1486. In March 1490 it takes possession of the Tyrol of his uncle Sigismond. After the death of his father in 1493, he is the only king of the Romans and duke of the Tyrol. The following year sees the intervention of France in Italy, beginning long the Guerres of Italy. Maximilien joint the League of Venice in 1495, then the Holy League in 1511, to counter the French.
In 1508 it proclaims emperor elected of the Romans , with the authorization of the pope Jules II.
Maximilien is probably most known to lead the reform of the Diète to Worms which concludes the Reichsreform (imperial Reform), restructuring most of the constitution of the Empire. He is the founder of the Sempiternal Paix of 1495.
In order to reduce the pressures growing on the Empire by the treaties between the governments of France, Poland, Hungary, Bohemia and Russia, like making safe Bohemia and Hungary for the Habsbourg, Maximilien met the kings of the dynasty Jagellon Vladislas II Jagellon, king de Hongrie and of Bohemia and Sigismond Ier, king de Pologne with Vienna in 1515. The marriages arranged there brought Hungary and Bohemia under the control of Habsbourg one decade later.
It had as a successor his grandson Charles Quint, his son Philippe the Beautiful being deceased in 1506.

Maximilien married in 1477 Marie of Burgundy from which it had two children:
- Philippe (1478 - 1506), wife in 1496 with Lille Jeanne de Castille and becomes thus king de Castille
- Marguerite (1480 - 1530), wife in 1497 Jean d' Aragon (1478 - 1497), then in 1501 Philibert II of Savoy (1480 - 1504)
Maximilien marries Anne of Brittany by procuration the December 19th 1490. However the king of France Charles VIII reacts by invading the Brittany, while making cancel this marriage for not-consumption and by marrying itself Anne without awaiting cancellation.
In 1494, Maximilien marries Blanche Marie Sforza (1472 - 1510).
