Maxime Brunerie , born the May 21st 1977, is the author of an attempt missed at Assassinat on the President of the French Republic Jacques Chirac the July 14th 2002 during the ravelled on the Fields-Élysées.

Brunery, student and security agent, were militant of Extreme-right-hand side accustomed platform of Kop of Boulogne of the PSG which intended to assassinate Jacques Chirac in order to attract the celebrity (it had left a message on a forum " Look at all tomorrow evening the TV, I will be the vedette" ) then of Suicide R. These two attempts were failed.

Using a Rifle 22 Long Riffle which it had beforehand hidden in a case with Guitare, Brunerie drew in direction from the presidential car, but missed its target. It was controlled by passers by then taken along by the police force.

It will be discovered that Brunerie was related to the bunch Radical Unité (dissolved following the missed assassination) and that it had been presented into 2001 to the local elections (18th of Paris) like candidate of the National republican movement. It had been also associated with the French and European nationalist Parti. Brunery was victim of a deep personal discomfort and wished to finish some with the life, after having failed to find its way in the political action.

Brunery was condemned to ten years of prison after a psychiatric examination. It would seem after analysis that he did not want to assassinate Chirac but dreamed of a glorious death: cut down by GIGN. At the time of its lawsuit, he declared that to kill Jean-Marie Le Pen would have been better target.
