Max Warschawski

max Warschawski (July 4th 1925 - September 13rd 2006) is old large the Rabbin of Strasbourg and the the Low-Rhine. Great figure of the Jewish Resistance against the German Occupation in Alsace, he is also historian of the Alsatian Judaïsme and militant for the Paix.

Biography

Born with Strasbourg, it is initially Rabbin of Bischheim of 1948 with 1954, then assistant of the large-rabbi of Strasbourg, Abraham Deutsch. It succeeds to him this station in 1970. With its retirement, in 1987, it is replaced by Rene Gutman.

He is the father of the Israeli activist Michel Warschawski.

At the 81 years age, max Warschawski dies with Jerusalem where it was withdrawn since 1987.
