Max Liebermann
max Liebermann is a painter German born the July 20th 1847 with Berlin and deceased the February 8th 1935. As from 1920, he is president of the Prussian academy of art but in 1933, following the come to power of the Nazis and because of its Jewish origins , he is to him interdict to paint.
It makes studies in Berlin of 1868 to 1873, then the courses of the School of the Art schools of Weimar. It meets with Düsseldorf the realistic painter Hungarian Munkacsy, whose it is subject to the influence. From 1873 to 1878, it remains with Paris it is attracted by Courbet and Millet. He studies the painting of the 17th century by carrying out several voyage in Holland. About 1890, it takes as a starting point the Impressionnisme French.
Liebermann falls under the impressionist movement.
