Personalities related to the commune

  • Rene Caillié was born there the November 19th 1799. He knew the celebrity to have been the first Westerner to return from the town of Tombouctou to the Mali.

  • the rear-admiral André Daniel Savary spent the last years of its life to Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon, in a street which bears from now on its name.
  • Jean-Claude Chauray passed his childhood and its adolescence to Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon, and rests since 1996 in the cemetery of the commune.
