Maurizio Pollini

Maurizio Pollini , born the January 5th 1942 with Milan, is a Italian Pianiste .

Wire of Gino Pollini, rationalist architect Italian, Maurizio Pollini studied the piano, when he was child, under the direction of the Master Carlo Lonati. With its death, Maurizio Pollini, 13 years old, continued its studies of piano under the direction of the Master Carlo Vidusso, with whom he worked up to eighteen years. Thereafter, Maurizio Pollini studied the direction of orchestra and the composition with the academy of Milan.

After having gained the first price of the international Contest of piano Frederic Chopin with Warsaw in 1960, it is withdrawn several years of the concert halls to perfect its play. He works with Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.

Since the middle of the years 1960, it gives recitals and occurs with the international full orchestras. On a world level, he is regarded as one of the largest contemporary pianists, in particular in the interpretation of works of Frederic Chopin and a contemporary type-setter like Pierre Boulez.

If Pollini is an striking example of absolute control of the keyboard, it to him is sometimes reproached a certain emotional distance; but its admirors answer that is rather the sign of a musical rigor which refuses to be compromised with the sentimentality, especially when it acts to interpret works like those of the romantic repertory. ----
