The same day, the Mercure de France also published the manuscript, at the instigation of Maurice Saillet and Pascal Pia. André Breton, the first, felt that it was about a forgery and explained the reasons of them. He had seen just, because little time after, the actors Akakia Viala and Nicolas Bataille denounced itself like the authors of the forgery. They had, however, all the sorrows of the world to be the proof of their mystification. Six weeks after the publication of the forgery, Mercury withdrew the book of the bookstores. Maurice Nadeau, since, tries to make forget his error, which it omitted inter alia in his recent biography, entitled Serviteur! .
