Maurice Nédoncelle

Maurice Nédoncelle is a Philosophe French born with Roubaix in 1905 and died in 1976.

Priest, it teaches with the catholic Faculté. Arts doctor and Doctor of Divinity, he was professor and senior of the catholic Faculty of theology of the University of Strasbourg. Author of works on Newman and Von Hügel, it then decides to work out a philosophy of the person who founds the true existence in the Liberté. A freedom which, as at Marcel, never is done everything. It consists in occurring oneself by oneself and others. Is to you thus source and nonlimiting ego. This act to occur oneself names personification .

From there, Nédoncelle centers its reflection not on the to be, but on the being S. the relation between étants is defined like heterogeneous identity . Contrary to the ontology which is univocal and applies to all that is, Nédoncelle calls Ontique what characterizes being it and distinguishes it from all the others. The ontic analysis is that of the relationship between the étants. In the long term, this relation is Communion and the communion love of the other. The Amour expresses the essence of the Nobody.

However, the key of the relation of love between the men is not other than God. In Christian good , Nédoncelle thinks that this key is revealed by the Christ, the God-man saying that all the men are brothers and by there sons of God since the brothers have the same origin. The love of god and that of the men are thus bound by a principle of Réciprocité: the human relation implies God and vice versa . God calls the Homme as the man calls God. The name which this call esl carries the Prière.
