Maurice Much

Maurice Prou is a historian of the right French, born the December 28th 1861 with Sens and dead the October 4th 1930 with Paris.

Course

Raise École of the charters, Maurice Prou writes there a thesis devoted to the edition and the study of the charter of frankness from Lorris-in-Gâtinais (1884). After a passage by the French School of Rome, it is named with the cabinet of the medals of the National library.

He plays a great part in the revival of the history of the right and the institutions at the end of the 19th century. He was a long time member of the editorial board of the historical Revue of right and of the Company of history of the right.

He is elected with the Académie of the inscriptions and the humanities in 1910.

With died of Purple Paul, in 1916, it also takes care of the courses of history of the institutions of the School of the charters, until the pulpit is provided, in 1919. He becomes director of the École of the charters since 1916, and remains it until 1930.
