Maurice Henry-Coüannier
Maurice Henry-Coüannier (1887-1921) is a French writer.
Of a paternal family magistrates of Rennes, it is resulting by his mother from a line of naval officers Brest-native. It prepares the school of the charters then continues studies of right. It publishes, on the council of the count Albert de Mun (of the French Academy), a first novel, the Bell-tower Flowered under the Maurice pseudonym of Bélangeraie. This novel is crowned by the French Academy; Encouraged by this success, it publishes under its name a tale, the False Princess who also receives warm welcome. Mobilized in 1914, it is very seriously wounded with the battle of Eparges, close to Verdun, in March 1915. After the war, he saw a true mystical conversion, gives up the novel, which appears a futile way to him, and writes, on the council of monseigneur Edmond Loutil, known as Pierre the Hermit, cleaned of Saint-François the Dirty ones with Paris, a life of the great Savoyard saint, Saint Dirty François and his friendships . But he dies in 34 years of the continuations of his wounds, without to have been able to publish this last work. It is his/her sister and her cousin who will conclude the task of edition at Per Orbem in 1922. This book has a strong success immediately and knew since several editions, including abroad. The most recent date of 1979 by the good care of the Order of the Visitation.
