Maurice Ephrussi is a Banquier born the November 18th 1849 with Odessa (Russia) and died the October 29th 1916 with Paris (XVIe).

Wire of Charles Joachim Ephrussi (1792 - 1864), founder of the Ephrussi bank, and his second wife, Henriette Halperson (1822 - 1888), it marries the June 5th 1883 in Paris (Ier) Béatrice de Rothschild. The couple does not have children.

Banker, it manages with his nephew Jules and his brother Michel and their associate Theodore Porgès the French subsidiary company of the Ephrussi bank.

At Paris, Ephrussi de Rothschild reside in a Hôtel particular to the n° 19 Avenue Foch. This building shelters today the embassy of Angola.

In the Years 1860, Maurice Ephrussi becomes owner of the Château of Reux (Calvados) where it is buried. To its death, the castle passes to the Famille Rothschild.

Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild makes build between 1905 and 1912 the villa “Ile-de-France” with Saint-Jean-Cape-Ferrat (the Alpes-Maritimes), which it bequeaths to her death with the Institut of France. She also has the villa “Sun” and the villa “Rose de France” with Monte Carlo.
