Maurice Corneil de Thoran

Maurice Corneil de Thoran (Liege, January 15th 1881 - Brussels, January 6th 1953), wire of Paul Ernest de Thoran, is a Musicien, Leader and director of the Théâtre of the Currency of Brussels, considered as an emblematic figure of the music scene in Belgium.

Biography

Of French ascent of the dynasty of Montfort, prince de Thoran de Montfort, and after a musical engagement like pianist-guide in 1902, then as leader in France, it is in Belgium that it will achieve his musical career.

Perfectionist man, Maurice Corneil de Thoran insufflates a radiation with musical creation and lyric 20th century and obtains a recognition in the world of the opera.

He directed the Theater of the Currency of 1943 until his death in 1953.
