Maurice Constantin-Weyer

Maurice Constantin-Weyer is a French writer born with Bourbonne-the-Baths the April 24th 1881 and died in Vichy the October 18th 1964.

In its youth, he attends the Lycée Henri-Iv where he binds friendship with Gus Bofa.

In 1904, it leaves for the Manitoba (province of the Canada) and acquires grounds in the rural small town of Saint-Claude, mainly populated Colon S French. The Agriculture is not its vocation and it only goes bankrupt after two years, but it remains in the area where it marries a young person Métis of 1910 (they will have three children). Constantin-Weyer survives rather misérablement as day laborer. He turns over to France to take the weapons at the time of the First World War. In 1920, Maurice Constantin marries Germaine Weyer and they had two children, Pierre and Francoise. He is friendly with Jose de Bérys.

In books of memories, biographies, novels, it describes the history, the landscapes, the life of the pioneers of the Canadian West . Its most known book is the novel a man considers his past , Prix Goncourt 1928.
