Maurice Buckmaster

Maurice Buckmaster (1902 - 1992) was during the Second world war the section head F of British secret service SOE (Special Operations Executive), section in charge of the actions of sabotage, espionage and support for the French interior Résistance.

Biography

1902 . - Birth on January 11th of Maurice James Buckmaster to Ravenhill, Brereton, Staffordshire, England
Studies with Eton. It stops its studies, when his/her father goes bankrupt.

1932-36 . - Managing director of the French branch of the company Ford.
1939 . - To the declaration of war, it turns over to Great Britain. It joined the British Forces expeditionary, and fights in France until the retirement of Dunkirk.
1940 .
*Le July 19th, Winston Churchill decides the creation of the SOE.
*Buckmaster is named responsible for the section T (Belgium).
1941
*Le March 17th, it is named Officier of information of the section F (France) of the SOE.
*septembre. It is named section head F, station which it preserves until the dissolution of the SOE, in 1946. It remains in London during all the war.
1944 . - With the end of the year, it is promoted with the rank of colonel. It can go to France and traverse the released areas.
1952 . - It publishes Specially Employed .
1958 . - It publishes They Fought Alone .
1992 . - He dies.
