Mauressac

Mauressac is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Garonne and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Its inhabitants is called Mauressacois.

Geography

Mauressac is a small village of 250 inhabitants approximately, located at 35 km in the South of Toulouse. The village is built with the Confluent valley of small a River, (Daurus which notched the slopes of the Volvestre) and broad alluvial plain of the Ariège. It is not at the bottom of this valley but rather located on the slope exposed to the South of which relief, at this place, present of the weak slopes. Many houses are aligned in edge or parallel to a Route which crosses the village, it connects the valley of Ariège to that of the Lèze (connection Auterive - Lézat-on-Lèze). Two hamlets are more with the variation and of new constructions were established in the immediate, quiet and naturally timbered neighborhoods, especially of Chêne S. The face of this commune is varied since it includes/understands part of the plain of Ariège, the slopes of small the Ruisseau cultivated on the level of the village and the slopes of Volvestre, also cultivated, but mainly wooded. The wood of Mauressac presents a rare characteristic in our area, it comprises an important plantation of Hêtre S which is more beautiful effect and their underwood is much more pleasant to traverse than the other underwoods, generally Ronce ux, of on our premises. Mauressac is thus a well exposed village and whose dwellings are more or less dispersed in a semi-wooded and not very sloping environment.
