Mauna Kea
Mauna Kea means white mountain in hawaiien, because of its snowing up in winter. It is about the more high summit of the islands Hawaii. Its absolute height, calculated like that of the volcanos Martians, is of: 10230 meters because it occurs with: 6000 meters in lower part of the level of the Pacific Ocean.

Mauna Kea (Mauna O Wākea)
In Hawaiien, White Montagne means, because the top of Mauna Kea is often covered with snow in winter. The goddess of Mauna Kea, Poliʻahu is represented with a body in snow.It can be also translated by Montagne of Wākea , where Wākea is the celestial father of Hawaiiens (god of the sky).
Puʻu O Kūkahauʻula
It is the traditional name of the top of Mauna Kea at an altitude of 4.205 meters (13 796 ft) above the sea level.Kū-ka-hau-ʻula means Kū snows of it rougeoyante (Kū off red-hewed dew) . Kū is a god, lover of the goddess of the mountain Poliʻahu . The color corresponds to a phenomenon of light of to the morning sun playing with the winter snow-covered top.
This top is also sometimes called Puʻu Wēkiu or Mauna Kea peak or summit cone .
Kūkahauʻula indicates sometimes the summit unit gathering the Puʻu Wēkiu , the Puʻu Kea (where CFHT is located) and the Puʻu Hauoki (where IRTF is located).

Houpo O Kāne (Ka Houpo O Kāne)
It is a source in the western south of the top, located at 3200 meters (10 500 feet).This toponym means the chest (or center) of Kāne . Kāne is regarded as most eminent of the gods hawaiiens.
Waiʻau
It is the name of a lake Lake Waiʻau and of a volcanic cone Puʻu Waiʻau .The lake recovers a crater, and is located at the western south of the top to the altitude of 3.965 meters (13 007 feet).
