In country Kisii the grounds were reorganized by a policy of regrouping and modernization the shortly after the revolt of the Mau Mau (1952 - 1956).

The movement African militant Mau Mau dates from the years 1950; this rebellious group acted in the name of the people Kikuyu oppressed by the British empire with the Kenya. In October 1952, after an assassination and sabotage campaign charged to terrorists Mau Mau, the English colony declares a state of emergency and organizes military operations against the rebels. At the end of 1956, more 11  000 rebels were killed during the engagements and more 20  000 other Kikuyu were held in camps inside whose attempts to lead them to adopt the political sights of the government were undertaken. However in spite of the actions of the government, the Kikuyu population preserved its nationalist aspirations confirmed by the come to power of Jomo Kenyatta, former leader of the rebel movement Mau Mau in 1953.
