Matthieu effect

The effect Matthieu is the name given to the Vicious circle leading to a development differentiated from the report/ratio to the Lecture of young people Enfant S of school age .

Many studies establish that time devoted to read by the child is a determining essence of the reading level. However, this last positively influences the first in return by the means of the development of the interest for the reading. In fact, the difference between the practices or the representations of the reading grows hollow very easily between the young people who read and those which do not read, the first being able to be confronted with 5 million Mot S per annum, the seconds with less than 10.000. The family circles and school have from this point of view a fundamental role to play as possible releases of the early reading of the children.

The variation which would grow hollow ineluctably is called Matthieu effect in reference to the Gospel according to Matthieu, in which it is known as: “ With that which has, it will be given much and it will live in abundance, but with that which does not have anything, it will be very taken, even what it had. ” (25: 29)
