Matsunosuke Onoe

Matsunosuke Onoe (尾上松之助) is a Japanese actor born on September 2nd, 1875 and died on September 11th, 1926.
Born Tsuruzo Nakamura, it begins its career as actor of Kabuki then becomes it first star of the Japanese Cinéma while turning nearly a thousand of films between 1909 and 1926. Under the direction of the realizer Shozo Makino, it is the first to popularize the Jidaigeki. It is sometimes credited under the name of Yukio Koki, Tamijaku Onoe, or Tsunusaburo Onoe.
