Matruh or Matrouh is an Egyptian city located on the edges of the Mediterranean, to 300 km of Alexandria. Cultures are found there Mediterranean and the city does not count more than 18.000 inhabitants.

Matrouh is known for the combat which took place in 1942 there, between Germans and British.
