Matrimandir
In the center of Auroville is Matrimandir, considered as the heart of the place by the Mother, Matrimandir is a gigantic room of meditation to the white marble walls sheltering it (supposed) larger crystal ball of the world (70 cm diameter) lit by the rays of the sun thanks to a system of mirrors installed on the roof. Around Matrimandir, one finds 12 other small rooms of meditation (called petals) having each one their own environment. Outside, Matrimandir resembles a gilded sphere, center of a lotus formed with the petals.
