Orientation

Die MP gathers pupils from the die Mathématiques, Physique and Sciences of the engineer: MPSI. It includes/understands classes MP and MP*. The classes of MP* gather the best pupils of the die and the education level is reinforced there.

Obligatory matters

Mathematical (complete Program)

Analysis and differential Géométrie : spaces normalized, numerical or vectorial series, continuations and series of functions, series whole, Fourier series, derivation and integration on a segment, integrals generalized, linear differential equations or not, functions of several variables, curves and surfaces.
Algebra and Géométrie : arithmetic, rings and ideals, spaces vector of unspecified size, reduction of the endomorphisms, spaces préhilbertiens, conical and quadric.

Physical (complete Program)

Electrokinetic : analyzes of Fourier, second-order filters.
Mechanical : mechanics of the solid, systems of solids, laws of Coulomb.
Electromagnetism : local formulation, drivers, forces of Laplace, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic energy, induction, propagation electromagnetic waves.
Optical undulatory : interferences, diffraction, networks.
Thermodynamic : conduction, convection, radiation.
Practical works : electricity, optics.

Chemistry (complete Program)

Thermodynamic chemical : free enthalpy, standard sizes, chemical affinity, laws of displacement of balances, balance between binary phases mixtures in the case of.
Oxydoreduction : diagrams of Ellingham, diagrams potential-pH, corrosion.

French-Philosophy (Program)

Study of one topic using three works.

Living language 1 : English, German, Spaniard, Italian, Arab…

Study of the economy, the lifestyle, the culture of the foreign countries using this language through press articles.
Drive with the version, the topic (literary or grammatical), with the cross contraction (summary of a French text in the foreign language) and with the written expression.

Work of personal initiative framed

Preparation of a presentation which will be given at the time of the oral examinations.

Optional subjects

The pupils of MP continue to follow the option which they had to choose in MPSI: Industrial sciences or Data processing. The data-processing option is not proposed in all the colleges comprising of the preparatory classes. The pupils can choose to follow or not a second living language.

Industrial Sciences for the Engineer (acronyms: S2I, IF) (complete Program)

Study of the systems : structures, models.
Mechanical : dynamics of the solids, kinetic energy of the solids, chains of solids.
Automatic : GRAFCET, linked systems: stability, performance, speed, correction.
Data-processing : Directed work of use of a formal computation software.

Data-processing (complete Program)

Methods of programming : iteration, recursivity, to divide to reign, complexity of the algorithms.
Structures of data and algorithms : lists, piles, trees.
Finite-state machines : deterministic finite-state machines or not.
Concepts of logic : propositional calculation, Boolean functions, basic circuits, examples of formal handling of terms and formulas without quantifier.

Living language 2 : English, German, Spaniard, Italian, Arab…

Study of the economy, the lifestyle, the culture of the foreign countries using this language through press articles.

The adhesives in MP

Mathematical

Adhesives one hour old into trinomial.
One or more exercises are proposed. The goal of these adhesives is to see and use techniques of resolution and to look after the presentation of it.

Physical

Adhesives one hour old into trinomial.
the interrogation can contain one or more exercises as well as a question of course; it is favourable with discussions on physical phenomena.
Some subjects of chemistry can be proposed.

Living language 1

Adhesives 40 minute old: 20 minutes of preparation, 20 minutes of passage.
the pupil is brought to read or listen to an extract of press article and to prepare a talk. It must introduce the topic and the article, make a summary of the ideas presented and comment on the article and the topic. The oral examination ends in a maintenance.

French-Philosophy

Adhesives one hour old: 30 minutes of preparation, 30 minutes of passage.
the pupil must read a bearing text on a subject of company and prepare a talk. It must introduce the topic, the thesis and the article, make a summary of the ideas presented by highlighting the argumentative structure then to make an essay on one of the subjects tackled in the article. The oral examination ends by a maintenance and possibly in questions of vocabulary.

Timetable

Mathematical : 10:00 of course, 2:00 of TD, 1:00 of adhesive per week.

Physics-Chemistry : 6:00 of course, 1:00 of TD, 2:00 of TP per week and 1:00 of adhesive per fortnight.

French-Philosophy : 2:00 of course per week, 2 annual adhesives.

Living language 1 : 2:00 of course per week and 1:00 of adhesive per fortnight.

Option IF : 2:00 of course and TD per week, 2:00 of data processing practices by fortnight.

Option Information : 3:00 of course per week, 2:00 of TP every four weeks.

TIPE : 2:00 per week.

Living language 2 (optional): 2:00 of course per week.

Sport : 3:00 per military week in prépa.

Outlets

At the conclusion of the year of MP, the pupil will be able to pass from the contests in order to integrate a school of engineer or a National university, but also to enter to the university in third year of license (of mathematics or physics) or to remake a second year of MP.

The principal contests suggested are: X, ENS, Mine-Bridges, Power station-Supélec, CPC and E3A.

A pupil of MP will be able to plan mainly to become either Engineer, or Enseignant, or Enquiring.
