Mathematical Association off America
The Mathematical Association off America ( MAA , or " Mathematical association of Amérique" in French) is a partnership which is interested in mathematical education. It sponsored a contest named Putnam Mathematical Competition and gives the Prix Chauvenet.
The MAA was founded in 1894 by Benjamin Finkel. Its seat is with Washington, D.C. It is often more known like publishing mathematical books and newspapers aiming at the mathematicians and of the mathematics professors, or to have sponsored less conventional projects like mathematical constructions of surfaces out of brick of Lego.
