Materials treated with the hydraulic binders

The mixtures treated with the hydraulic binders , according to the European terminology, or materials treated with the hydraulic binders , according to the French terminology, are used for the construction and the maintenance of the layers of roadways of the roads, the aerodromes and other aprons. They consist of a mixture of Granulat S and hydraulic Liant.

Components and composition

The treated materials are composed by aggregate mix and one or several hydraulic binder.

Aggregates

The aggregates consist of solid particles of the mixture:

of different volume, for example sand and fine gravels,
of different origin like:

gravel, crushed rock,
industrial by-products (slag of blast furnace),
waste (blast-furnace slags of incineration of household refuse).

The differences in compositions are sometimes limited to a lower hydraulic content while binding. In much of case, requirements on the granularity are prescribed. The sand treated with cement is normally used only in the sub-bases.
