The Match of stars of the major League of baseball 2008 ( 2008 MLB AlStar Range ) will be the 79e edition of this opposition between the best players of the American Ligue and the National league, the two components of MLB.
The match will be played the July 15th 2008 with the Yankee Stadium, cave of the New York Yankees in the Bronx.
Selection of the stage
The advertisement of the Yankee Stadium as place of the MLB All-Star Range 2008 was made by the police chief of the MLB, Bud Selig, and the mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, the January 31st in the New York' S City Hall. It is the fourth time that the Yankee Stadium acceuille the AlStar Range and the eighth time that it takes place with New York. Last the AlStar Range in New York took place in 1977. In 2009, the Yankees will move in a new stage, the New Yankee Stadium. Thus, this event was seen by certain like a homage at the old stage.
