Matanza de Acentejo is a commune located in the north of the island of Tenerife in the archipelago of the the Canaries (Spain). The area very fertile and is well supplied out of water. One finds there inter alia plantations of Banane S and Vigne S.
In 1494 Spanish lost a battle against the Guanches at this place, for this reason it gave him the name of Matanza (French: the massacre).
Two years later Guanches were definitively overcome not far from there, with the site of the current commune of Victoria de Acentejo.
