Masters of Hamburg
The Tournoi Masters Series of Hamburg is a professional tennis tournament of ATP Tour (male circuit). It disputes mid-May, on the courts in beaten Ground of the Rothenbaum of Hamburg in Germany. It is the fifth of the nine tournaments Masters Series of the season. It is equipped with 1.870.000 dollars.
It was announced by the ATP that in 2009, this Masters Series will be probably retrogressed with a statute of International Series Gold. This would harm seriously the prestige of this tournament, with the players of high ranking who would move more worms of the tournaments to stronger profits in points and silver, like in fame. This " rétrogradation" announced in 2007, would be due to the fact that the heads of series would not go there more, that the attraction would not be strong enough for Masters Series. The two players at the head of the Technical classification ATP and ATP Race, Roger Federer (n°1) and Rafael Nadal (n°2), which had not taken part in 2006 in it, because of problems of calendar, thus went there in 2007, by solidarity and to show that they were opposed to retrogradation.

It is Switzerland Roger Federer which to date holds the greatest number of titles in this tournament, with four trophies with its credit.
