The master off business administration , different from the French diploma of the master in administration of the businesses is a diploma of international approval in the field of the businesses, the trade and the business management.
Heading
This diploma initially appeared with the the United States under the English heading of master off business administration , in summary MBA. Because of the influence of the American system, the heading of this diploma can be in English in nonanglophone countries. In France, there exists a difference between control and master, consequently this diploma can be known under the name of " master in administration of the affaires" , if it is about a national diploma. It is not a question itself of a national diploma, the master term cannot be used and the heading of the diploma is then " MBA".

History
The control in administration of the businesses comes from the the United States where the first two American businesses schools (Wharton and the Université of Chicago) were created in 1881.
In 1898, the University of Saint-Gall, in Switzerland, was created like one of the first businesses school in Europe. With the emergence of the American model, centers of excellence in business were created in Europe, as it was the case in particular in the universities of London (London Business School) or of Manchester for England and within the Institut of political studies (IEP) of Paris even, or with the ESSEC, HEC Paris and with EDHEC in France, to quote most prestigious.

In France, it is necessary to distinguish the master in administration of the businesses and the diplomas entitled " MBA". In France, several nonuniversity establishments propose MBA with full-time:

- the National school of the Highways Departments: over 10 months (of which a part can be carried out in the USA, in China and/or in Japan)
Other schools also give trainings full-time, but also of the formations for frameworks tested (Executive MBA) equivalent without to be recognized with the international level: the EM Lyon, IEMI, the National school of Insurances, the IAE of Aix-en-Provence or the University Paris-Dauphine.
