Master of the Horse of France
The Master of the Horse of France was one of the large officers of the crown of France during the Ancien Mode.
Previously indicated like Main of the Stable, the load of Master of the Horse was set up in large office of the crown in the neighborhoods of 1470. The first holder of this title was Alain Goyon, Seigneur of Villiers, Thieuville, Mesnilgarnier.
The Master of the Horse, commonly called Mr Large the , was responsible for the royal stables. He personally directed the large stable of Versailles, whereas its subordinate, the First Rider of France ( Mr the Prime Minister ), had the load of the small stable . The first was mainly made up of the commanderies signet rings as well as royal stud farm, while the second was directed towards mountings of civil uses, such as the carosses and other cars. The authority of the Master of the Horse also extended, in the territory of the kingdom, with the stud farms and the academies of training of young people noble to the art of warfares.
It had the privilege to carry the sword of the king at the time of the ceremonies which occurred outside the royal palaces.
Between 1643 and the Revolution, the Master of the Horse was always selected in the Maison of Lorraine.

In addition to his ecu showing his weapons, the Master of the Horse of France carried, each side a sword of gold, with sleeve and sown cross-belt of France.
