Master and to order: On the other side of the world ( Master and To order: The Far Side off the World ) is a American film carried out by Peter Weir left in 2003.

Synopsis

1805, during the Napoleonean wars, the Surprised HMS ordered by the Capitaine Jack Aubrey (Russell Crowe) launches out to the continuation of the French vessel Acheron through all the Pacific Ocean (and in particular Cape Horn).

Comparison enters the film and the books

The film takes again elements of the various books of Patrick O' Brian.

The French vessel of film, the Acheron corresponds in the WORN book to the frigate states-unienne Norfolk . This change was undoubtedly made so that the film is appropriate for the public states-unien, in a context of tension to UNO about the American intervention in Iraq, prone to the opposition of France to the safety advice.
