Massacre of Thalit
The massacre of Thalit had in the small village of Thalit (in the Wilaya de Médéa, close to Ksar el Boukhari), to approximately 70 km of Algiers, of the 3 to the April 4th 1997, into full Algerian Civil war.
52 of the 53 inhabitants of the village were cut the throat of by the terrorists of the Islamic Groupe armed (GIA). Other massacres took place the same day with Amroussa, Sidi Naamane, Moretti and Beni Slimane where one counted 30 dead.
