Massacre of Greifensee
The massacre of Greifensee is a bloody episode of the Ancienne war of Zurich during which a complete garrison of Inhabitant of Zurich - combined of Austria - was carried out by the Confédérés.
May 27th, 1444, after 4 weeks of seat, the 62 soldiers inhabitants of Zurich present inside the fortress of Greifensee went without conditions. Besieged under the command of Wildhans von Breitenlandeberg were for the majority of country origin.
To mark the spirits and “so that one spoke about it far in the countries”.
The following day, the castle was set fire to and on June 1st, 1444, Confédérs from went away. The town of Zurich was going to be besieged a few weeks later, on June 24th, 1444.
