Massacre of Gnadenhütten

The massacre of Gnadenhütten took place Friday March 8th 1782 during the war of independence of the United States, in the Ohio.

It is a massacre of 96 Christian Indians including 60 women and children by a militia of White of Pennsylvania in reprisals with the incursions carried out by another group of Indians.

The inhabitants all of Gnadenhütten was of the members of the tribes Lenape and of the church moravienne, they had remained neutral during the war of independence because of their religious convictions and pacifist.
